How much does a family photographer cost in Kansas City?
Family sessions in Kansas City commonly run $300–$750. Kichdimna Photography charges $185 for a 20-minute mini with 15+ edited images, $275 for a full hour with 35+ images and up to two locations, and $395 for a 90-minute extended-family session with 60+ images.
What is the best time of day for family photos?
The hour before sunset, almost always. The light is soft and low, nobody squints, and children are usually past the afternoon slump. In winter that means late afternoon; in midsummer it can be after 7:30pm, which is late for toddlers — in that case an hour after sunrise gives identical light and empty parks.
What if our toddler will not cooperate?
That is the normal outcome, not the disaster. I plan short bursts, keep the camera moving, and photograph what the child is actually doing rather than fighting it. Bring a snack and whatever toy is currently non-negotiable. Some of the best frames come from a two-year-old refusing to participate.
Can grandparents and multiple households join?
Yes — that is what the $395 Extended Family session is for. Ninety minutes gives time for the big group shot, each household separately, the grandchildren together, and the couples. Trying to fit that into a 20-minute mini never works.
