We start about an hour before sunset, when the light comes through the leaves. Bring a second outfit for the hour-long session and we'll use the light in two spots.

When do fall colors peak in Kansas City?
Kansas City's fall color usually begins mid-October and peaks from the last week of October into the first days of November. Warm weather, drought, or an early hard frost can shift that by several days in either direction, so the last two weekends of October are the safest bet for booking.
How much does a fall photo shoot cost in Kansas City?

What should we wear for fall photos?
Warm, muted tones photograph best against fall color: rust, cream, olive, camel, deep denim, mustard. Pick one or two base colors for the whole group and vary the texture rather than the palette — knits, corduroy, and wool read beautifully in low autumn light. Avoid bright neon and busy logos, which pull the eye away from faces.
How soon will we get our photos?
Portrait galleries are delivered within 5–7 business days, which leaves room to order prints and holiday cards before the December rush.
What if the leaves have already dropped?
Late-season sessions still photograph well — bare branches, golden prairie grass, and low late-autumn light have their own look, and I'll pick locations that hold color longest. If you specifically want peak leaves, book late October.
